Celebrating Our Lab Achievements!
We are excited to share that numerous talented individuals from our lab, both past and present, are progressing towards significant achievements in the field of psychology, including innovative research projects, contributions to academic publications and conferences, mentorship and training of new researchers, as well as the development of their skills as well-rounded clinicians and researchers.
Firstly, congratulations to alum Caroline Nester Rooney who was awarded a 3-year, $200,000 grant from the Alzheimer’s Association, the Alzheimer’s Association Research Fellowship for All (AARFA).
This project will evaluate whether digital cognitive assessments can help identify rural older adults at risk for cognitive impairment or dementia. Rural-dwelling older adults face nearly double the risk of dementia yet encounter significant barriers to specialty care. By studying 100 rural older adults across the United States and engaging directly with rural patients and healthcare providers, this work aims to determine how digital tools can improve early identification and strengthen dementia care in rural communities.
Internship and Externship. Many of our students have successfully matched for externship and internship opportunities. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to everyone who has achieved these milestones. Your commitment and perseverance are truly inspiring. We look forward to seeing the incredible work you will accomplish in your upcoming roles!
